Service Dog Teams Reprise

On September 1st, 2017 we all suffered a great loss.  Dr. Mary Lee Nitschke, Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, and Professor Emeritus at Linfield College died in Portland Oregon from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.  Mary Lee was a close personal friend of ours for over 20 years.  Her contributions to the world of animal behavior and training, service dogs, and the school of nursing where she taught are immeasurable.

To us personally, she was our loyal, supportive, trustworthy friend and colleague whose dry wit, courage, strength, grace, and positive outlook on life were a blessing we were privileged to have been the recipient of throughout all the years we knew her.  Mary Lee was always true to herself, marched to the beat of her own drummer, and did not suffer fools and foolishness.  We will miss her laugh, her realism, steadiness, her gift of pinon nuts at Christmas time, and so much more.  The world is a poorer place without her in it, but she enriched the lives of all who knew her.  We know her spirit lives on, and is directing someone, somewhere, to do things her way.  And we know she is re-united with her beloved Mindi, her cat Bluberry, and all her loved ones.

In honor of Mary Lee , for one month, we are making available at no charge, the replay of the CAABChat she did with us  on “Service Dog Teams: Paths, Challenges, and Functions” .  With the issue of “fake service dogs” continuing to be of concern, this Chat is as relevant today as it was on the day we Chatted live with Mary Lee on the topic in 2015.

For Mary Lee, service dogs and accessibility were intensely personal issues that she lived with every day.   As always, Mary Lee held strong opinions about service dogs, from their selection and training to the issue of public access.  We guarantee you’ll come away from this Chat with different insights about service dogs, perhaps new questions (but Mary Lee would think that’s a good thing!) and an appreciation of Mary Lee herself.

We encourage you to take advantage of the one month’s free access to “Service Dog Teams: Paths, Challenges, and Functions” with Dr. Mary Lee Nitschke, CAAB that begins September 27th, and expires October 27th.   You will still need to register and complete the form in our shopping cart, but when you check out, your charge will be ZERO. (If you’ve previously purchased this Chat, your access will continue uninterrupted, with no expiration date).

Click HERE to read the original Chat description and to register for free access to the Chat until October 27th.

As you listen to her voice, send a thank you and a godspeed to Mary Lee.
